Hooray! you've found it – Head on over to our form page and fill it in to trade at our next event in 2023!

WHY IS THIS EVENT SO IMPORTANT?

First and foremost, it's Black History Month so why not celebrate the diverse town we live in!

However, did you know Black-owned businesses in the UK face a variety of challenges such as underrepresentation, limited access to start-up funds, and barriers to accessing wider markets.  A recent report has shown that 88% of Black-owned businesses have been self-funded and quite relevant to this figure studies have shown that Black-owned businesses are 5 times more likely to be rejected for Loans and Grants. These figures highlight the need for change so that Black businesses can imagine, actualise, and succeed in the UK.

Sophie says, “We want to celebrate and promote black-owned businesses and the vibrant culture within our local area, within a space that holds memories. The event will create opportunities to; showcase new and existing talents, encourage creativity, learn new skills, have meaningful conversations and network.

THE ORGANISERS BEHIND THE EVENT:

Created by Conscious Youth CIC, a Huddersfield-based youth & community social enterprise. We have decided to address the lack of diverse representation, inclusion and opportunities for people who look like us within the business sector.
